The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little incentive to find more ways of walking around.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually pressed up the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
